Wash glassware by hand with hot water and very little soap.
Wine tastes better, or is perceived to taste better, in thin blown glass with a polished lip. It should be colorless and unadorned.
Young wines should be in bigger glasses than old wines, to encourage the escape of tannin.
Hold the glass by the stem, so your hand doesn't change the temperature.
Don't fill your glass more than half way, so you can swirl the wine and enjoy it's aroma. (Unless your ordering in a restaurant - in which case insist on a full measure.
